Two Queensland Police Service vehicles were launched today that honour and remember the 30 Queensland Police Constables who were killed in action or died of wounds or illness during the First World War.
Road Policing Command Assistant Commissioner Mike Keating launched the Brisbane vehicle at the Nundah Anzac memorial today.
The second vehicle has been deployed to Northern Region and will be used at a number of events including National Police Remembrance Day (September 29). Here it is pictured below at a North Queensland Cowboys event.
Assistant Commissioner Keating said the vehicles were a small token to remember the biggest sacrifice an officer could make.
“The Anzac centenary is a fitting time to remember the 30 officers from the Queensland Police Service who were killed in action or died of wounds or illness during the First World War,” Assistant Commissioner Keating said.
