Detectives have charged a man with a number of offences after police tracked a stolen car through Beerwah yesterday afternoon.
Around 2pm police attended a residence on Choocin Hills Drive to speak to a man and woman in relation to an alleged stolen vehicle. Police will allege that on their arrival the pair attempted to flee the scene.
The woman was taken into custody a short distance from the residence however the man managed to elude police. Police including a dog squad unit continued to search for the man in nearby farmland.
It will be further alleged that just after 4pm a police crew observed the man leaving a property on Steve Irwin Way in a red Toyota Hilux utility stolen from the property. Police followed the vehicle and attempted to intercept it however the man reversed his vehicle into the police car before continuing to drive away.
