Firearms offences, Toowoomba

Police have charged a man with weapons offences after 12 firearms were found at a Kearneys Springs address yesterday.
It will be alleged at 11.15pm police attended a Milton Street residence and located 12 assembled firearms and a number of firearm parts. The weapons were eight rifles, including a shortened 12-gauge shotgun, and four handguns, two of which appear to be homemade.
A 43-year-old Kearneys Springs man has been charged with five counts of unlawful possession of weapons, and one count each of possession of restricted items (two flick knives), possession of dangerous drugs (amphetamines), possession of a utensils, possession of explosives and fail to dispose of syringe.
He will appear at the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
Investigations are continuing in relation to the firearms.
In an unrelated matter police also charged a Wilsonton man with possession of a handgun after a search warrant was executed at a Seppelt Street at Wilsonton residence yesterday.
