Thank-you to the residents of Dirranbandi and Mungindi

The Queensland Police Service would like to extend its’ warmest thanks to the residents of Dirranbandi and Mungindi, who were instrumental in assisting with the apprehension of a man wanted in connection with a number of serious offences allegedly committed in New South Wales and Queensland this week.
Members of the public went above and beyond to support police in their search both via air and land, showing immense dedication and community spirit, for which we are both proud and thankful.
A 29-year-old St George man was charged with 22 offences following the series of incidents which originated in New South Wales and continued in the Dirranbandi area over a two-day period (May 22 and 23).
Police will allege they attempted to intercept the man as he travelled across the New South Wales – Queensland border in a stolen 4WD utility.
The man was eventually apprehended hiding in bushland on a property outside Dirranbandi.
