Queensland police have charged a second man after a boy was allegedly abducted from Mudgeeraba on May 11.
It will be alleged that a boy was taken from Clover Hill Drive by two men and, as a result, police declared an Amber Alert.
It will be further alleged that after extensive investigations, the boy was located in New South Wales around midday on May 12.
An extradition hearing in a New South Wales court was successful and Queensland detectives took a 53-year-old man into custody on May 14 and he was transported to Southport and formally charged with two counts of extortion and one count each of torture, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and kidnapping for ransom.
On May 22 a 20-year-old man voluntarily attended Cabramatta Police Station in New South Wales.
