A teenager is assisting police with inquiries into a wounding incident in Nambour earlier tonight.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 5.20pm, two 17-year-old boys became involved in an altercation which resulted in one of the boys being assaulted before the other fled the scene.
The injured boy received a wound to his chest and hands and was taken to Nambour Hospital before being transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening-injuries.
The two boys are known to each other.
A crime scene has been established as investigations continue.
