Two people have been charged with 29 offences after police located a number of alleged “grow houses” during raids on addresses in Brisbane’s south yesterday.
Papa Cider is an on-going Drug and Serious Crime Group investigation targeting drug traffickers involved in the production and distribution of cannabis.
On June 15, search warrants were executed at residences on Beaudesert Road at Moorooka, Logan Road at Upper Mount Gravatt and Emperor Street, Annerley. The estimated value of the illicit drugs seized is $1,350,000.
Each residence allegedly contained a sophisticated hydroponic setup (‘grow-house’) with cannabis plants at various stages of maturation being used for the production of cannabis.
In Moorooka a total of 43 cannabis plants and a significant amount of hydroponic equipment valued was located as well as a sum of cash.
At Upper Mount Gravatt a total of 195 cannabis plants, one kilogram of dried cannabis and a significant amount of hydroponic equipment was seized.
