Police are keen to talk to members of the public who may have had dealings with a 47-year-old man arrested in Gympie on June 21 on theft and fraud offences.
It will be alleged the man stole farming implements from Moonie and subsequently sold them to other parties.
It will be further alleged the man used the services of online dating sites to establish relationships with women in order to defraud them of money and property.
Officer in Charge of Gympie CIB Detective Sergeant Rob Lowry said the man used the name of ‘David’ on the dating sites along with several different surnames including ‘Whittaker’.
“As police continue to investigate, we would be interested to speak with members of the public who have had contact with this man online,” Detective Sergeant Lowry said.
“If you have any concerns or believe you are a victim, then please contact police,”
