A 30-year-old woman from Mount Sheridan has been charged following a traffic crash at a Brinsmead park reserve last night.
The woman was a passenger in an allegedly stolen utility that crashed into a tree in the vicinity of Glenoma Park, after evading an attempted police intercept.
The male driver fled on foot and was not able to be located.
The vehicle, which was allegedly stolen from the Atherton Tablelands in February, was seized for forensic examination.
Officers arrested the woman at the scene and a search of her handbag allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine and a set of scales.
She was subsequently charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a thing used in the commission of a crime and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
The woman is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 27.
