Police are investigating after a man was assaulted on a bus in Capalaba overnight.
Officers were called to a bus interchange on Redland Bay Road at 8pm and initial information suggests that a bus driver was parked on the road.
The door was closed when a group of men approached the bus and tried to board.
The driver closed the door and advised the group the bus was not due to depart, but the group then entered the bus and one of the men punched the driver a number of times before pulling him from the bus and further assaulting him.
The men then fled the area on foot and were last seen heading towards Capalaba Central.
The bus driver, a 41-year-old man, was transported to the Redlands Hospital for facial, chest and arm injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
