A 50-year-old male sergeant from Central Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is being investigated in relation to unlawfully taking property from a supermarket on multiple occasions.
The officer has been issued with a Notice to Appear for eight counts of unauthorised dealing with shop goods and is due to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on October 1.
In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct.
This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
