The Queensland Government wants your feedback on youth justice issues in Queensland.
Following recommendations from the Atkinson Report on Youth Justice, this broad community consultation will help develop the Youth Justice Strategy.
The key findings of the report were that the government should adopt a ‘Four Pillars’ approach:
Intervene early
Keep children out of court
Keep children out of custody
Reduce reoffending
These are supported by the two main principles: that public safety is paramount, and that community confidence is critical.
This is why the Queensland Government needs Queenslanders to be part of the conversation that guides strategy for the future.
Have your say via a short survey or by written feedback, so we can build a better Queensland together.
The survey questions are based around the ‘Four Pillars’ and recommendations from the report, and should only take about 20 minutes.
