Update: Armed Robbery, Surfers Paradise

Gold Coast police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery in Surfers Paradise in the early hours of this morning.
It is alleged just before 3am, a 25-year-old man was sitting in a rented Nissan XTrail at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Peninsula Drive, when a stolen 2005 Mitsubishi Magna – containing four men – parked in front of his vehicle.
One of the men entered the 25-year-old’s vehicle and allegedly threatened him with a knife.
The victim exited the car, where a second man stole his car-keys, iPhone and watch, before the two men drove away in his vehicle.
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
A 29-year-old Southport man has since been charged with armed robbery in company and two counts each of fraud and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Investigations are continuing.
