Dangerous drug (Khat) arrest, Runcorn

Police have arrested a man following the alleged location of the dangerous drug Catha edulis (Khat) yesterday evening in Runcorn.
At about 9.45pm, police conducting roadside breath testing on Beenleigh Road intercepted a Nissan X-Trail for that purpose.
Whilst speaking to the driver of the vehicle, it is alleged police observed a bag in the driver’s side footwell containing 37 clip seal bags of the drug.
It is further alleged an additional clip seal bag containing the drug was located in the driver’s clothing along with a quantity of cash.
Further investigations led police to an address in Spoonbill Street, Inala where it is alleged police located a large quantity of cash.
A 48-year-old Inala man is charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, producing a dangerous drug, supplying a dangerous drug and possession of property suspected of being proceeds of an offence.
The man appeared in the Richlands Magistrates Court today
