On Monday, the Commissioner Ian Stewart attended Santa’s Workshop at Policelink to help wrap presents for the Commissioner’s Gift Drive.
Policelink have been managing the Gift Drive since 2010, and this year the workshop is almost bursting at the seams to hold all the generous donations received from Variety, QBANK, Sandgate Men’s Shed and QPS staff and the fundraising efforts of the Gift Drive Team.
This year’s Drive is supplying 1767 children in need with gifts this Christmas, with agencies from Inala, Forest Lake, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Ipswich, Beenleigh, Caboolture, Logan and Crestmead identifying children who will need to receive a gift from the Commissioner’s Gift Drive.
The Commissioner was joined by volunteers from QBANK, Policelink and Variety – The Children’s Charity CEO Steve Wakerley.
Many Policelink staff members also helped wrap some presents on their lunch break.
