Police have charged a man after an alleged attempted armed robbery this morning in North Rockhampton.
It will be alleged that a man entered a service station on Dean Street just before 6am armed with a a knife and made demands for cash.
It will be further alleged the man then fled the scene empty handed and was located a short time later at a nearby address where he threated and struck an officer with a shovel before being taken into custody.
A 36-year-old Allenstown man has been charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, acts intended to prevent lawful arrest, enter premises to commit an indictable offence and obstruct police.
He is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court this afternoon.
