Police officer injured, Yarrabilba

A man is in custody and a police officer has been injured following an attempted traffic intercept that occurred in Yarrabilba earlier this morning.
Police were attempting to intercept a car on Yarrabilba Road at 2.40 this morning and an officer got out of his vehicle to direct the car to stop and to speak to a driver.
It will be alleged that the vehicle drove in the direction of the officer, failed to stop, then struck the officer on the leg and, as a result, the officer fired his service firearm.
The officer, a 37-year-old constable, was transported to the Logan Hospital for treatment of a minor injury to his leg.
The vehicle was located by police nearby a short time later, a tyre deflation was deployed, and the vehicle collided with a police vehicle and failed to stop.
Polair and the Dog Squad were deployed, and a man was later taken into custody
