Police are investigating a violent robbery incident that occurred in Murrumba Downs yesterday evening.
Initial investigations indicate at about 7.30pm, five men caught a taxi from a Brendale address to Ogg Road, Murrumba Downs.
Four of the men exited the taxi at which time the fifth man who was still in the vehicle began assaulting the male taxi driver.
The driver attempted to drive the vehicle from the scene however was pulled from the vehicle by the five men and further assaulted and had property taken.
Police arrived at the scene taking one man into custody and the remaining four men into custody a short time later.
The driver was transported to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment of injuries to his head and face.
The five men are assisting police with their inquires.
Investigations are continuing.
