Disappointingly on day six of the Christmas Road Safety Campaign (phase 2) police arrested nine drivers who were more than three times the legal alcohol limit in a total of 41 drivers charged with drink driving.
The nine returned readings of 0.232% at Manunda, 0.214% at Woolloongabba, 0.209% at Strathpine, 0.204% at Tin Can Bay, 0.199% at Holloways Beach, 0.189% at Roma, 0.180% at Bargara, 0.162% at Aitkenvale and 0.157% at Mitchell.
Forty-five drivers also returned positive roadside drug testing results.
Twenty people were injured in traffic crashes across the state on day six with police also detecting more than 3,300 speeding motorists.
Twenty-one people decided they wanted to risk their lives by not wearing a seatbelt and another 22 decided to chance it by accessing their mobile phones. Another four hundred and nine traffic infringement notices were also issued yesterday.
