A 21-year-old man has been charged following investigations into an alleged attempted abduction that occurred in North Rockhampton earlier this morning.
A 24-year-old woman was standing outside a hotel on Main Street this morning around 12.15 when she was approached by a man allegedly placed the woman in a headlock and attempted to drag her towards a ute that was parked nearby.
The woman was able to alert nearby residents and when the man saw other people approaching, he released the woman and fled the scene in the ute.
Police will allege they pursued the ute south on the Bruce Highway around 1.30am, deployed a tyre deflation device at around 1.45am.
The vehicle continued to travel around the Rockhampton area and the man allegedly fled the car on Emu Park Road around 2.10am and was tracked and taken into custody by Police Dog Griffin and other officers.
