Fly Kites this Weekend at the Brisbane Kite Festival in Cannon Hill

Flying a kite is a typical childhood pastime in Australia, yet when people grow older, we tend to forget how much fun it can be. Bring back the old times and join the Brisbane Kite Festival in Cannon Hill this weekend.

The event will be staged at the Murarrie Recreation Ground on Wynnum Road on Sunday, 28 April 2019 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

You are free to bring your own kite or purchase one from the festival. There is a designated area where you can fly your kites alongside professional kite flyers.

There are a lot of activities to do aside from making and flying kites. Your family, especially the kids would surely have loads of fun face painting, jumping castles, and feasting on sausage sizzle.

Everyone is welcome to join this free event sponsored by the Brisbane City Council and organised by the Rotary Clubs of Balmoral, Carindale and the Port of Brisbane. There will also be special assistance from the Phoenix Kite Collective.

Pets are allowed but they must be supervised and on leash at all times. Free car parking on site is available and the closest train station is Murarrie on the Cleveland Line.

Whilst it’s a free entry event, the festival accepts gold coin donations, which will all be used for local and international community projects of the Rotary Clubs of Port of Brisbane, Carindale, and Balmoral.
