Four-day road police operation leads to 80 charges, Logan

A four-day proactive, high-visibility road patrol operation in the Logan District has resulted in police laying 80 charges for multiple offences.
Operation Titus, which ran from 4pm Thursday July 30 to 11pm Sunday August 2, saw officers from Browns Plains, Logan Central, Springwood, Crestmead and Jimboomba station intercept vehicles at stationary road set-ups in suburbs including Forestdale, Browns Plains, Boronia Heights, Berrinba, Slacks Creek and Marsden.
In total, close to 2,000 drivers were breath-tested resulting in a total of 80 charges being laid, including:

14 x unlicensed drivers
10 x drink driving (six low-range, four mid-range)
12 x drug-related offences (possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils)
2 x high speed driving (149kph / 100 zone, 128kph / 80 zone)

Police also issued 55 traffic infringement notices for various offences including driving while using a mobile phone, learner driver’s driving unaccompanied, driving a defective vehicle, driving an unregistered vehicle, speeding, failing to stop at a red light and
