Phone down, eyes up campaign for Logan

The Queensland Police Service has partnered with Logan City Council for the phone down, eyes up campaign aimed at reducing robbery offences in public spaces.
Alongside a proactive strategy which has included more patrols of public spaces the phone down, eyes up campaign will see advertisements placed in locations aimed at reminding potential victims to keep personal property concealed.
Detective Inspector Tod Reid said an analysis conducted by Griffith University had helped identify a group being targeted.
“The victims are mainly young men aged between 12-20 years old. Alongside our proactive strategy we are asking that they remain aware of their surroundings and keep your eyes up.”
“Be smart with mobile devices and always keep your personal safety in mind when out walking or catching public transport. Ensure you have set up a PIN code for your phone and download any apps that may help you locate your phone if it is stolen.”
