Detectives have charged a 36-year-old man following investigations of a robbery that occurred in Cranbrook last night.
It will be alleged at about 8.20pm, a 45-year-old woman was forced out of the car at her property on Fitzroy Street.
At the time of the incident two children were inside the vehicle however both managed to safely exit.
The woman attempted to stop the man but was unsuccessful.
It will be further alleged he drove off in the silver Mitsubishi ASX before abandoning it a short time later at the intersection of Black River Road and the Bruce Highway.
The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries. None of the children were physically injured as a result of the incident.
The 36-year-old Kirwan man has been charged with one count of armed robbery using personal violence and one count of stealing.
He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow, April
