Police are investigating a fatal traffic incident involving a car and pedestrian in Nerang last night.
Preliminary investigations suggest a woman was on the road at the intersection of Ferry and Nerang streets when she was struck by a passing car around 7pm.
The 44-year-old woman suffered critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
