Operation Trawler nets more drug arrests in Darling Downs

A rolling police operation targeting illicit drug activity has resulted in the arrest of 28 people following raids across the Toowoomba, Oakey and Pittsworth areas this week.
Officers executed 24 search warrants across the region on Wednesday and Thursday where they arrested 28 people on a combined total of 74 charges including producing, trafficking and supplying dangerous drugs.
The arrests were part of Operation Quebec Trawler which has seen 253 people charged with 640 offences since the operation commenced in July.
Officer in Charge of the Darling Downs District Tactical Crime Squad Senior Sergeant Matt Howard said the operation was being driven by information provided by members of the public.
“The people of the Darling Downs are getting behind their local police and working with us to disrupt and remove insidious drugs like ice in our community,” Senior Sergeant Howard said.
