Police have made an emergency declaration following a fire in Morningside this evening.
Shortly after 3am, emergency services responded to reports of a fire at the Morningside State School at Pashen Street.
A declaration was made under the Public Safety and Preservation Act 3.25am and it encompasses the boundaries of Pashen Street, Riding Road, Stephens Street and Thynne Road.
Stephens Street and Pashen Street are also closed in that area.
Police are asking people to avoid the area and close any windows and doors due to the smoke.
