The Queensland Police Service has joined the Queensland Government’s new strategy for combating Ice use.
One key focus of the campaign will be to treat Ice-users who need help breaking out of the addiction.
Tammy has been clean for 20 months and wants to share her story to encourage other Ice users to seek help.
She originally turned to Ice because of her social circle, and then to help her cope with difficulties in her life.
Isolating herself from friends and family, Tammy couldn’t see how much she needed help, even when her mother found out and tried to confront her.
“I didn’t think I had a problem,” Tammy said.
“The turning point was losing everything.”
After Tammy lost her house, her licence, her car and even her kids, she knew she had to make changes.
