Quick thinking Sunshine Coast cop delivers baby on Bruce Highway

A remarkable early morning emergency saw Queensland police officer Senior Constable Christine Fox help deliver a baby girl on the side of the Bruce Highway at Tanawha last week.
This morning Senior Constable Fox was reunited with newborn baby Ayla as well as the two Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics who attended the scene to assist and treat brave mum Aimee.
Just after 1am on Monday, November 5 Senior Constable Fox was supervising road works being carried out on the Bruce Highway when she noticed a vehicle pulled off to the side of the road.
As she went over to investigate she discovered Luke, Aimee’s husband, looking visibly concerned and distressed.
“At first I was worried someone had been badly hurt, then I saw Aimee standing next to the car in labor and the baby was already crowning,” Senior Constable Fox said.
“I grabbed a towel from the car and let the Triple operator guide us
