Police have charged 36 people on 89 drugs and weapons offences, as part of a major week of action targeting the supply of dangerous drugs on the Gold Coast.
During the week-long operation, Gold Coast detectives executed 33 search warrants across the northern district, including; Southport, Surfers Paradise, Runaway Bay, Coomera, Nerang, Pacific Pines, Pimpama, Upper Coomera, Ashmore, Highland Park, Labrador, Biggera Waters and Arundel.
It will be alleged that a significant amount of methylamphetamine (Ice), Gamma Hydroxybutyrate (Fantasy), MDMA and cannabis was seized, equating to an approximate street value of more than $15,000. Stolen property was also allegedly located, including; a motorcycle, trailers and a firearm silencer.
To date, 36 people have been charged with a range of offences, including; the production, supply and possession of dangerous drugs and weapons offences. More arrests and charges are expected today.
