Police have established a Forward Command Post at the Calliope Caravan Park as investigations into the suspicious death of two people continue.
Police were called to the Stowe Road complex around 5pm yesterday (Thursday, December 6) when a 63-year-old man was located outside his caravan with significant head injuries.
The man was transported to Gladstone Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigations by police lead them to a nearby caravan where the body of a 60-year-old woman was located inside her van with significant injuries.
Crime scenes have been declared at both caravan sites with Scientific and Scenes of Crime officers processing the areas and uniform and detectives canvassing the caravan park.
A police Investigation Centre has been established at the Gladstone Police Station with detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit arriving today to assist local detectives.
