Townsville detectives are investigating after two men attempted to steal a teenager’s vehicle at West End earlier this morning, with one of them trying to drag her from the utility.
The 19-year-old Townsville woman was proceeding slowly through the intersection of Percy and Crauford streets, West End at around 3.20am when two men approached her vehicle.
One of the men attempted to open the locked passenger door but was unable to gain entry.
The second man managed to open the driver’s door and tried to pull the woman out of the vehicle but was unable to due to her seatbelt.
The man struggled with the woman before she managed to drive-off in her 2002 blue Holden Commodore utility.
The two men were last at the intersection.
Detectives have also released a comfit image of a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations.
One of the men is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait
