A man is in a critical condition following a wounding overnight in Manoora.
Just after 1am police attended a Reservoir Road address and located a 45-year-old man with stab wounds to the abdomen and arm.
The man was transported to Cairns Base Hospital with life threatening injuries.
A crime scene was declared, and a 37-year-old woman was taken into custody.
She has since been charged with grievous bodily harm and wounding and is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today (July 27).
The man and woman are known to each other.
