On Thursday, March 5, Protective Services hosted an International Women’s Day morning tea.
International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on March 8, acknowledges the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
This event was a chance for Protective Services administration and operational staff to network with clients, other members of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and other public safety agencies.

The first keynote speaker was Detective Chief Superintendent Cheryl Scanlon, who spoke about her journey through the QPS and how she experienced and witnessed the evolution of women’s rights and entitlements throughout her career.
The second keynote speaker was Ms Carolyn Bradley, General Manager of Strategy, Innovation and Insights in the Crime and Corruption Commission.
