A senior member of the Queensland Police Service has been stood down this evening in relation to domestic violence allegations.
An investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
The investigation has not resulted in any charges being laid at this time.
More specific details about the member cannot be provided to protect the identity of the aggrieved.
The QPS has a zero-tolerance approach to domestic and family violence and expects high standards of its members.

Suspicious house fire, Parkhurst
Police are appealing for information after a house was destroyed by fire at Parkhurst overnight (July 15).
Emergency services were called to the Yaamba Road address around 11pm and arrived to find the building well alight.
No one was injured as a result of the fire.
Detectives are urging anyone with dashcam vision or any other information to contact police.

Drug charges, Cedar Vale
Police have charged two people with multiple drug-related offences after a search of a Cedar Vale residence allegedly uncovered a quantity of drugs and drug utensils.
Around 10am on July 14, police executed a search on the Champney Court property allegedly uncovering 22 cannabis plants. Police also allegedly seized multiple drug-related items including heat lamps and transformers, along with more than $2,000 in cash.
A 28-year-old man was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs, possessing utensils and possessing relevant substances. He will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 25 September.
A 29-year-old woman was charged with one count of permitting use of place. She will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 24 September.

Police officer returned to official duties, South Eastern Region
A 47-year-old male senior constable from South Eastern Region who was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service on March 22, 2019 has had the stand down revoked.
The officer was subject of an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct in the workplace and in a public place. Court proceedings relating to the incident have been finalised and a disciplinary investigation is continuing.

Stabbing incident – Surfers Paradise
Police are investigating after a man sustained a stab wound to his abdomen at Surfers Paradise early this morning.
Around 5.45am police were called after a man aged in his 30’s was located injured near a service station at the corner of Monaco Street and the Gold Coast Highway.
The man has been transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.

Firearm and Drug Seizure, Logan
Officers from Taskforce Maxima have charged a man with firearm and drug offences after executing a search warrant at a Logan address yesterday.
During the search of the Coldstream Way residence, police located and seized cannabis, drug utensils, an air rifle, ammunition and a significant quantity of prohibited items including clothing and paraphernalia associated to the Mongrel Mob who are declared as an identified organisation under the Liquor Regulation 2002.
Police issued a Notice to Appear to a 24-year-old man to attend Beenleigh Magistrates Court for possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils, possessing explosives, unlawfully possessing a weapon and wearing prohibited items.
Yesterday’s arrest comes after police charged a 37-year-old Woolloongabba man, the alleged President of the Mongrel Mob Logan chapter, for wearing a prohibited item in public.

NSW areas added to Queensland border restrictions
New South Wales areas have been added to Queensland border restrictions following the declaration of two new COVID-19 hotspots today.
From midday Tuesday, July 14, anyone who has been in the local government areas of Liverpool or Campbelltown in the past 14 days will not be able to enter Queensland.
The whole state of Victoria also remains a declared COVID-19 hotspot.
Queensland’s border restrictions mean people who have been in a COVID-19 hotspot within the last 14 days will no longer be able to quarantine in Queensland and will be turned away at the state’s border.
Queensland residents who have been in a COVID-19 hotspot can return home but will be required to quarantine in government provided accommodation at their expense.
The Chief Health Officer declared the New South Wales areas as hotspots following a public alert of multiple cases of COVID-19 being traced to the Crossroads Hotel at Casula.

Wounding, Redcliffe
Police are investigating after a woman sustained a stab wound to the neck in Redcliffe yesterday evening.
It will be alleged around 6.25pm a 17-year-old girl attended an address on Reedy Street and confronted one of the occupants of the home, a 20-year-old woman who is known to her.
An altercation occurred between the pair where the girl allegedly produced a knife a stabbed the woman.
The girl then fled the scene and the 20-year-old woman was transported by witnesses to Redcliffe Hospital with a life-threatening wound to her neck.
Police arrested a 17-year-old Blackwater girl a short time later as she received treatment in hospital for an injury to her hand.
She has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
Investigations are continuing.
Serious domestic violence charges, Darling Downs
Police have charged a 71-year-old man with more than 10 serious domestic violence related charges following the alleged assault of a woman in Brisbane’s south and pursuit near Warwick overnight.
Shortly after 10pm last night, it will be alleged the man attended a Chandler residence and forced entry before assaulting a 68-year-old woman known to him with a wooden club.
It will be alleged the man then threatened the woman before leaving the residence.
Police attended and observed the man leaving in a red dual cab utility but were unable to intercept at the time.
Officers patrolling the Cunningham Highway observed the man’s ute heading towards Warwick where a pursuit was authorised.
The man was arrested by the Police Dog Squad after allegedly attempting to reverse the ute out of a dead-end street.
He has been charged with 13 offences including deprivation of liberty, common assault, enter dwelling, contravention of a domestic violence order and unlawful
