A 52-year-old male sergeant from Operations Support Command who was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service will now return to operational duties.
The officer was stood down in relation to an offence of drink driving. The court proceedings and disciplinary hearing in relation to this matter have now been finalised.

Fatal traffic incident, Bundaberg
An 83-year-old Avoca man died yesterday after a traffic incident at a service station in Bundaberg.
At about 11am the man was checking the tyre air pressure of his vehicle when he has reversed at speed across the street crashing into a fence.
The man was transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital and later died as a result of his injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations into the matter.

Wounding, Thuringowa
Police are seeking public assistance after a woman was stabbed in Thuringowa overnight.
Around 1.15am a 29-year-old woman was asleep in her Adler Close house when she heard a noise in the courtyard outside her bedroom. She has stepped outside and has been stabbed in right side of her chest by an unknown man who then fled the scene.
He is described as 185cm tall, slim build, having a dark complexion and wearing a hooded jumper.
Police are appealing for anyone with further information or dashcam vision of the area around that time to contact police.
The woman was transported with the Townsville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
Serious traffic crash, Woodridge
A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after a single vehicle traffic crash at Woodridge overnight.
Around 11.45pm a sedan was travelling north on North Road when the driver has lost control and hit a power pole.
An 18-year-old Logan man remains in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating.

Update: Fatal traffic crash, Glenore Grove
Police investigating a fatal traffic crash at Glenore Grove in the early hours of Thursday morning are appealing for witnesses.
Around 4.45am on July 8, a black BMW sedan travelling east on the Warrego Highway left the road and collided with a tree.
The driver died at the scene.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are seeking any witnesses who were travelling on the Warrego Highway and may have seen, or been overtaken by, two dark coloured sedans travelling east bound in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Anyone with information or dash cam vision is urged to contact police.

New boarder declaration pass information
You can now apply for a border declaration pass to enter Queensland from 12.01pm tomorrow (Friday, July 10) at https://www.qld.gov.au/border-pass/queensland-border-declaration-pass-july-10

> The Queensland Government will implement enhanced border control measures, including border passes and identification screening.
> From 10 July 2020, any person travelling from New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory may enter Queensland subject to completing and signing a border declaration and undertaking to present for a COVID-19 test if they develop symptoms.
> Any person who has been in a COVID-19 hotspot during the past 14 days, including Victoria, must not enter Queensland.

Twenty-two speeding drivers caught in three hours
Twenty-two people were issued infringements for speeding during a three-hour police operation at Yatala yesterday.
Non-traditional enforcement methods were employed along Stanmore Road to detect those breaking the law.
Four people were issued infringements for speeding at more than 40km/h over the sign-posted speed limit of 80km/h. The highest speed recorded was a motorcyclist travelling at 172km/h.
One learner driver, who was detected at 116km/h, also received infringements for driving unaccompanied and not displaying his L-plates.
Superintendent David Johnson said police continue to see high speeds detected on Queensland roads despite an increased police presence as part of Operation Cold Snap.
“In the first week of the operation, we have issued more than 3,100 infringements for speeding,” Superintendent Johnson said.
“This means more than 3,100 people have made a decision to put their own life and the lives of others at risk by speeding – and they are only the ones we have detected.”

Changes to state border restriction measures on Gold Coast
Queensland is opening its borders to all states with the exception of declared ‘hot spots’ from this Friday, July 10.
Currently all of the state of Victoria has been declared as a ‘hot spot’ for people entering Queensland.
There will be some changes to the border restriction measures on the Gold Coast.
From midday this Friday, July 10, 2020 anyone who enters Queensland will need to have a Queensland Border Declaration Pass and any necessary documentation to prove they have not been in Victoria over the past 14 days.
The changes also apply to Queensland residents and visitors.
Chief Superintendent Mark Wheeler said the aim of these changes were to protect Queensland from COVID-19 community transmission being experienced in other states.
“These strict measures are about safeguarding Queensland in the midst of a global pandemic,” Chief Superintendent Wheeler said.

Serious traffic crash, Little Mountain
Police are investigating a collision between a car and a scooter rider in Little Mountain this afternoon.
Around 6.20pm, a car travelling east on Caloundra Road collided with a male teenager on a scooter at the intersection of Sugarbag Road.
The teenager was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver was not physically injured.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has dashcam vision, is urged to contact police.

Man fined $4,000 for false border declaration
Police are warning anyone planning to enter Queensland to complete their border declaration pass honestly after a man was fined while attempting to cross the border on the Gold Coast this morning.
Around 11am, officers at the Griffith Street border control check point intercepted a bus and spoke with a 43-year-old male passenger to verify his border pass.
His declaration indicated he was travelling from New South Wales to Queensland for essential medical treatment.
Police will allege the Sydney man was in possession of false identification, did not require medical treatment and had completed the border declaration fraudulently.
The man was refused entry to Queensland and issued with an infringement of $4,003 for failing to comply with the Covid-19 Border Direction.
Since 12pm on Friday 3 July 2020, anyone entering Queensland has been required to complete a border declaration pass.
