Serious traffic crash, Moranbah
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious three vehicle traffic crash near Moranbah this afternoon.
Around 5.15pm, police were called to the Moranbah Access Road following reports a van travelling south struck the rear of a stationary utility intending to turn right into a nearby property.
As a result of the impact, the vehicle was pushed into the path of a utility travelling north.
Both drivers of the utes were taken to Moranbah Hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.
The van’s driver and sole occupant was also taken to Moranbah Hospital but later airlifted to the Townsville Hospital in a serious condition.
Investigations are continuing.

A family were lucky to escape serious injury on the Warrego Highway today after a brick catapulted off the back of a passing truck through the front window of their four-wheel-drive.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred around 1.30pm approximately three kilometres outside of the Miles township.
A 48-year-old man was driving his Landcruiser eastbound along the Warrego Highway when a brick flew from the rear load of a truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The brick bounced off the road, crashed through the front passenger window of the four-wheel-drive and tore into the roof before exiting through the back windscreen, denting the trailer behind.
The missile narrowly missed a 42-year-old woman who was sitting in the front passenger seat and an 8-year-old boy who was in the rear of the vehicle.
They were transported to hospital for treatment to cuts from broken glass.
