Fatal motorbike crash, Coles Creek
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal motorbike crash at Coles Creek this evening.
Preliminary investigations suggest a woman was riding the motorbike with a male passenger northbound on the Old Bruce Highway around 5.45pm when they lost control and struck an embankment near Mary Valley Link Road.
The 30-year-old female rider from Mothar Mountain sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 38-year-old male passenger was transported to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition with chest and arm injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
Armed robbery, Calamvale
Police have released CCTV images following the armed robbery of a drive through bottle shop in Calamvale last night (July 2).
At around 9pm a man entered the Compton Road business via the driveway, produced what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money from the shop attendant.
The male attendant handed over a sum of cash which the man put in a large black bag before fleeing the scene northbound on Beaudesert Road.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 183cm tall and was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper underneath a green coloured flannelette shirt, dark coloured pants, black shoes and a baseball cap.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the man or have more information to come forward.

Update 5: Homicide Investigation, Logan
Detectives investigating the murder of 16-year-old Larissa Beilby are renewing their public appeal to locate a vehicle of interest in the matter.
Investigators are searching for a 2014 silver Holden Commodore sedan (pictured) with a sunroof.
The vehicle had been bearing Queensland registration plates 966 WKB which may have since been removed or replaced.
Police are urging anyone who may have noticed a vehicle with a similar description parked in a suspicious location or abandoned to come forward.

This year the Queensland Police Service is determined to get the message out that there’s no excuse for elder abuse.
Elder abuse is any act within a relationship of trust which results in harm to an older person.
Elder abuse can take various forms such as physical, psychological or emotional, sexual and financial abuse. It can also be the result of intentional or unintentional neglect.
Using the funds of an elderly parent without their knowledge, such as skimming their pension or taking their key card, is elder abuse. So is intimidating an elderly person into signing legal documents to hand over assets or make new wills. Someone neglecting the care of an elderly person they’re responsible for is elder abuse, and can have devastating effects on health and wellbeing.
Sadly, it is most often close family members who are the abusers. This can mean older people are less willing to tell someone, or we
