Attempted armed robbery, Hervey Bay

Police have charged a man after the alleged attempted armed robbery of a licensed venue in Hervey Bay overnight.
It will be alleged around 7.20pm a man armed with a knife entered the Buccaneer Drive premises and approached the gaming area.
He allegedly jumped the counter before demanding staff hand over money.
A female employee raised the alarm and staff members and patrons at the club restrained the man until police arrived a short time later.
A 28-year-old Pialba man is due to face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today charged with one count of attempted armed robbery.

Arson investigation, Eagleby

Police are investigating after three vehicles were destroyed by fire at Eagleby overnight.
Officers were called to the Boyd Street residence around 10.30pm where two cars and a motorcycle, parked in an open carport, had been burnt out.
No one was injured during the incident.
At this stage, detectives are treating the fire as suspicious and declared a crime scene at the property.
Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area is urged to contact police.
