Fatal traffic crash, Oxenford

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a two vehicle crash that claimed the life of a teenage boy at Oxenford this afternoon.
Preliminary investigations suggest that around 3.30pm, a sedan and utility travelling in opposite directions of Tamborine Oxenford Road collided.
A 15-year-old boy, the rear driver’s side passenger of the sedan, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the sedan was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries
The other two passengers of the sedan and all three occupants of the utility sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for precautionary checks.
Tamborine Oxenford Road remains closed between Michigan Drive and the round-a-bout while officers conduct investigations.

Fatal traffic crash, Pormpuraaw

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred near Pormpuraaw overnight.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 8:30pm a car was travelling south along the Mungken River Access Road, approximately six kilometres from Pormpuraaw when it rolled a number of times.
Emergency crews attended and a 65-year-old Pormpuraaw man was declared deceased at the scene.
A 39-year-old man and a 32-year-old man who were passengers in the vehicle were flown to Cairns for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing with officers arriving from Cairns later this morning.

Fatal traffic crash, Calcium

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred on the Flinders Highway near Calcium yesterday afternoon.
Preliminary investigations indicate at around 2:30pm a utility was travelling south along the Flinders Highway when it left the road and collided with a tree, approximately 8.5 kilometres south of the Woodstock turn-off.
The 17-year-old male driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
