Stolen property appeal, Woolloongabba

Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information which could help in the return of a mobility device.
Around 11.30am on Friday, July 10 the wheelchair attachment was stolen from a man who lives with a disability at a hotel on Stanley Street in Woolloongabba.
The piece of equipment valued at $12,000 is understood to be only one of two around the entire metropolitan area.
A 39-year-old Goodna man and 19-year-old man from Woolloongabba have since been charged with one count each of stealing.
They are due to front the Brisbane Magistrates Court in November.
Anyone with further information or vision is urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.

Alleged border breach from Victoria

A Queensland man is in hotel quarantine and is under investigation following an alleged border breach.
Police will allege the man travelled from Victoria (Tullamarine Airport) to Brisbane Airport yesterday morning.
As per the current border restrictions, the man returned from a declared COVID-19 hotspot and was placed into hotel quarantine.
Investigations have revealed that the man not only provided false information on his Queensland border declaration but also allegedly breached quarantine in Victoria.
The Queensland Police Service is committed to ensuring everyone complies with public health directions and will continue to enforce restrictions at the border.

Detectives smash stolen truck parts case, Browns Plains

A 27-year-old man has been charged with more than 80 offences after the alleged thefts of heavy vehicle automotive parts from around Brisbane and Logan over the past two months.
It will be alleged the male driver of a black VU SS Holden utility attended various industrial areas, predominately during weekends, when businesses were shut.
Once on site, he would then remove catalytic converters from heavy vehicle exhaust systems using a special type of saw.
Centenary Crime Scene detectives working on Operation Sierra Fox will further allege the crimes occurred in places including Acacia Ridge, Crestmead, Murarrie, Wacol and Yatala.
More than 30 trucks have been targeted, as a result, causing the vehicles to be inoperable.
The combined vehicle repair cost is believed to be in excess of $250,000.
A 27-year-old Browns Plains man was arrested by officers from the Centenary Crime Team in the early hours of yesterday morning and taken to the Richlands watchhouse.

Police officer suspended, Northern Region

A male constable from Northern Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
The officer was subject to an investigation in relation to allegations of possessing child exploitation material pursuant to the Criminal Code.
He was subsequently charged with one count each of possess child exploitation material and contravening order about device information. He will apear at Cairns Magistrates Court on November 30.

Armed robbery charge, Beenleigh

A man has been charged after allegedly threatening two store attendants with knife before tying them up and robbing a business at Beenleigh yesterday.
It will be alleged at around 4.40pm on August 31 a man entered a warehouse store on George Street and took cable ties off a shelf.
He then allegedly approached two female store attendants and produced a knife, demanding money.
The women complied and handed the man cash from the till before he ordered them into another room and bound them with cable ties.
He then allegedly forced the pair to provide him with access to a safe which he took additional cash from.
The man left the women tied up and took their mobile phones before fleeing the store.
Police were called a short time later and investigations led to the locations of a man on Snowden Street in Slacks Creek, allegedly found be in possession of the phones and money.

Public appeal – Serious assault, Warren Park

Detectives from the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch have released CCTV footage of a man they believe can help with their investigation into a serious assault in Warren Park last Wednesday (August 26).
Police allege around 9.30pm a 36-year-old Bahrs Scrub man was assaulted by three men outside an establishment on Beaudesert Beenleigh Road. The victim sustained significant facial injuries and was transported to Prince Alfred hospital.
Police attended the incident and two men were taken into custody. A 26-year-old and a 51-year-old, both from Beenleigh, were charged with one count of common assault and one count of grievous bodily harm. They are both due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 28.

Police shut down Townsville OMCG event

Police have disrupted an event in Townsville linked with the Odins Warriors Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) following the execution of a search warrant.
On Saturday August 29, officers from Taskforce Maxima, with assistance from the Townsville Major Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) and Tactical Crime Squad executed a search warrant on a Leyland Street address, Garbutt.
During the search, police identified and seized items including OMCG paraphernalia and quantities of cannabis and amphetamine.
Officers executed the search after receiving information the Townsville chapter of the Odins Warriors OMCG were planning to hold an event at the address, resulting in the seizure of items including event tickets and payments, an entertainment system and alcohol.
“Police will be alleging the Townsville Odins Warrior OMCG chapter was operating a clubhouse at the premises, and we will be continuing investigations to have this premises declared a restricted premises,” Detective Acting Superintendent Craig McGrath of the Organised Crime Gangs Group

GBH investigation, Mount Isa

Detectives are investigating after a man sustained serious injuries as a result of an assault at a Parkside club in Mount Isa on Saturday night.
It is alleged around 11.50pm on August 29, a 36-year-old Beerwah man was targeted by an unknown man who hit and kicked the man in the head multiple times.
A 22-year-old Toobanna man tried to intervene and was also assaulted by the unknown man.
The Beerwah man was transported to Mount Isa Hospital for treatment and later flew to Brisbane on Sunday to receive surgery for a broken jaw.
Police are asking witnesses who attended the bar to come forward.

Scope of $250,000 award widened in suspected homicide of Tina Greer 2012

Detectives investigating the suspected homicide of Tina Greer are currently executing a crime scene warrant at a Gold Coast hinterland property.
The 32-year-old mother was last seen at her boyfriend’s Clumber residence on, or about Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Police from the Homicide Group in conjunction with Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), as part of Operation Kilo Footwork have established a crime scene at a Bonogin address earlier this morning, where scientific and dog squad officers have been searching.
“Our focus is on forensic analysis and a thorough search of the property for Tina Greer’s remains and any evidence linked to her suspected murder,” Detective Inspector Damien Hansen of the Homicide Group said.
“We will be using all of our search capabilities, including human remain detection specialist dogs and assistance from SES volunteers to find Tina.”

Fatal motorcycle crash, Palen Creek

A 71-year-old Waterford man died this morning after the motorcycle he was riding crashed at Palen Creek.
Preliminary information indicates the man was riding along Mount Lindsay Highway around 11am when the motorcycle failed to traverse a bend, leaving the roadway and striking a tree.
The man died at the scene.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
