Detectives are investigating following the armed robbery of a service station in Aratula early this morning.
Just after 3am a man armed with a piece of wood entered the business on the Cunningham Highway.
The man demanded money from a staff member before fleeing the store on foot with a sum of cash.
Preliminary information indicates the man then entered a nearby vehicle and left the scene.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
The man is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, medium build and wearing light coloured shorts and a black t-shirt covering an orange high-vis polo shirt.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have been driving in the area with dash cam vision to contact police.

Appeal for witnesses – bicycle incident, Seven Hills
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was transported to hospital in a critical condition after falling from his bicycle on Oateson Skyline Drive, Seven Hills at around 6am today.
Several members of the public assisted the man until first responders arrived with police appealing for these people to contact them.
Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
A 67-year-old Seven Hills man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
Investigations are continuing with police investigating whether the man suffered a medical condition.

Suspicious behaviour, Maroochydore
Police investigating the inappropriate filming of women in public are appealing for anyone who can help identify a man who may be able to assist with investigations.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on Thursday, January 7 between 12.30pm and 1pm inside a sporting and clothing store at Sunshine Plaza Shopping Centre.
Initial investigations suggest the man may have filmed women without their knowledge.
The man was confronted by a woman inside the change room before fleeing the Maroochydore Road centre.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or has been a victim of the inappropriate behaviour to report the matter.

West End Police launch new bicycle security campaign

Deputy Premier and state member for South Brisbane Jackie Trad MP recently joined police officers from West End and Anne Savage, CEO of Bicycle Queensland last week to launch a new initiative aimed at increasing bicycle security.
Officers from West End have launched a webpage on their local myPolice site, entitled West End Serial Hub, that will allow bike owners to enter their bicycle serial number and receive a copy of it via a QPS email.
The West End Serial Hub encourages bicycle owners to keep a permanent record of the email so that if their bike is ever lost or stolen they can use the email as a reference for their serial number and provide this to police.
This provides police with an increased potential to return located bikes to their owners by matching the serial numbers.

Three charged after flood victims targeted, Winton
Officers from Longreach Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural) in conjunction with Longreach CIB have arrested and charged three people with 10 charges
On Monday, the three were detected driving a stolen vehicle in Longreach. Investigations revealed they had also allegedly stolen fuel from a number of locations, including a Winton service station.
MOCS (Rural) have also taken a moment to send a message to anyone thinking of taking advantage of flood affected property owners.

Armed robbery, Salisbury
Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery in Salisbury overnight.
It will be alleged at around 6:15pm a man entered a convenience store on Toohey Road and obtained a knife from a section of the store, before demanding cash from a male staff member.
The staff member complied, handing over a sum of cash before the man fled the store on foot.
No one was injured during the incident.
Officers attended the scene and conducted patrols of the area before taking a man into custody at a nearby licensed venue.
A 22-year-old Coorparoo man has been charged with armed robbery and possessing a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Fatal traffic crash, Lowmead
A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Lowmead this morning.
About 11am a utility was travelling on Stockbridge Road when it left the roadway and rolled.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 61-year-old Gin Gin man, died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Fatal traffic crash, Gladstone
Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Gladstone near Police Creek this morning.
At about 6:45am a 44-year-old Brisbane man was riding a motorcycle East on the on the Dawson Highway.
He attempted to overtake a vehicle, left the roadway and collided with a guard-rail.
The 44-year-old man died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit investigation is continuing.

Stolen trailer and tools, Ashgrove
Detectives are investigating the theft of a trailer containing over $50,000 worth of tradesman tools from a construction site in Ashgrove in the early hours of February 5.
It is believed the three-tonne, grey Phoenix trailer with registration number 719-QYL may have sustained damage as it was removed from the site.
A white Nissan Navarra was seen in the area at the time.
Officers are seeking the assistance of anyone with a dashcam who was travelling along Jubilee Terrace, the Western Freeway, or Centenary Motorway outbound between 3.45am and 5am on the Thursday, February 5 when the trailer was stolen.

UPDATE: Police appeal for help in identifying a woman – Dicky Beach – the woman has now been identified
Police have now established the identity of the woman and are in the sad process of notifying her family.
There is no further information available at this time.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Police appeal for help in identifying a woman – Dicky Beach
Sunshine Coast police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a woman whose body was located on Dicky Beach shortly after 5am this morning.
Preliminary information suggests the woman had gone swimming at an unknown location north of Dicky Beach where it is believed she then got into difficulties.
She is described as Caucasian, with a fair complexion, proportionate build and medium length dark brown hair and was wearing a two-piece black swimsuit.
