Armed robbery, Maroochydore

Police have charged a man after the alleged armed robbery of a pharmacy in Maroochydore last night.
Around 6pm it will be alleged the man attended the Aerodrome Road business armed with a replica shotgun and threatened staff.
They complied and the man fled with a sum of money towards the CBD.
He was located minutes later by the dog squad hiding in front of a business on Maud Street and arrested without incident.
A 45-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with armed robbery, threats and possess utensils.
The matter will be heard in court this morning.

Large quantity of suspected stolen property located – Alberton

Gold Coast detectives have charged two men aged 38 and 41 years old in relation to a large quantity of suspected stolen property valued in excess of $100,000 located at a residence at Alberton.
A search warrant was executed on a Rotary Park Road address on Wednesday, where it is alleged police located a large quantity of suspected stolen property around the residence, in a shed and shipping container.
Items seized included a crane truck with $30,000 of metal on the tray, a trail bike, bob cat, trailer, mower equipment, compressors, tools, machinery, quad bike, bicycles and a large assortment of other household items and property.
A 38-year-old man from Alberton has been charged with three counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of disqualified driving and one count each of burglary, enter premises, possess dangerous drug, possess utensil and stealing.

Queensland Border Declaration Pass available online

The online portal enabling members of the public to apply for the Queensland Border Declaration Pass is now live.
The completed declaration is a requirement for everyone including Queensland residents who are returning to Queensland as of midday on Friday, July 3.
State Disaster Coordinator Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said previous border entry passes into Queensland would be invalid from midday.
“Each person travelling must have a completed Queensland Border Declaration Pass and those travelling by road need to have one clearly displayed within their vehicle to enable priority passage,” Deputy Commissioner Gollschewski said.
“They must also carry identification which show a residential address.
“The Queensland Border Declaration Pass is a print-at-home document and issued following the completion of an online questionnaire.
“It is everyone’s responsibility to understand and listen to the Queensland public health directions and follow them closely, including those who intend to travel into Queensland from other states.

16-year-old boy charged with multiple alleged burglary and UUMV offences, Slacks Creek

Logan police have charged a 16-year-old Slacks Creek boy with multiple burglary and driving offences after investigating a string of alleged break-and-enters on homes across south east Queensland.
Police will allege between June 6 and June 30 the boy entered, or attempted to enter, multiple residences in suburbs including Ormeau Hills, Stretton, Parkinson, Springwood, Morningside, Camp Hill, Chelmer and Twin Waters.
In many of the alleged break-ins the boy allegedly removed car keys from the residence and left in the victim’s car. Other items alleged to have been stolen include handbags, wallets, bank cards, jewellery and a small amount of cash.
He has been charged with 14 counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, 11 counts of burglary, three counts of enter premises, three counts of receiving tainted property, three counts of attempted enter dwelling, two counts of stealing, two counts of attempted unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count of attempted

Heading out on the roads this weekend? Make smart decisions

A Townsville officer has intercepted a 30-year-old Mosman Park man after he was allegedly detected travelling 42km/h over the signed speed limit.
The man was driving on Woodstock Giru Road in Majors Creek when the officer allegedly detected him to be travelling at 142km/h in a 100km/h zone while towing a boat.
The driver was intercepted by the officer and subsequently performed a roadside breath test, recording a reading of 0.171 per cent BAC, over three times the legal limit.
The 30-year-old Mosman Park Man was Issued a Notice to Appear at Townsville Magistrates Court on September 29 for driving under the influence of liquor and disobeying the speed limit (drink driving and speeding). His license was also immediately suspended.
The Queensland Police Service is encouraging drivers to make smart decisions, heading into the second weekend of the school holidays and state-wide road safety campaign, Operation Cold Snap.

Update: Appeal for witness: Fatal traffic crash, Ipswich

Forensic Crash Unit officers are seeking public assistance to help locate a driver that may be able to assist in the investigation of a fatal traffic crash in Ipswich this afternoon.
Police would like the driver of a blue Toyota Camry (pictured below) that was travelling along East Street in Ipswich at 11am this morning (July 2) to come forward and speak to police.
Police continue to appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage of the Mercedes possibly travelling with another vehicle in the Ipswich area prior to the crash, to also come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate.

Fatal traffic crash, Ipswich

A 36-year old male has died after a two-vehicle crash at Ipswich this afternoon.
Preliminary investigations indicate, around 12.50pm a silver Mercedes wagon was heading along      Moffatt Street when it collided with a silver Volkswagen hatch travelling on Warwick Road.
The driver of the Mercedes was transported to Ipswich Hospital, but was declared deceased shortly afterwards.
The occupants of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage of the Mercedes possibly travelling with another vehicle in the Ipswich area prior to the crash, to come forward.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Serious motorcycle crash, Merrimac

Police are investigating a serious, single vehicle motorcycle crash in Merrimac this afternoon.
Preliminary investigations indicate, around 2.55pm a 29-year-old man from Worongary was riding a motorcycle westbound on Gooding Drive when it lost control.
The man was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident and is appealing for anyone with dashcam footage to contact police.

Drug and firearm charges, Labrador

Gold Coast police have charged a 38-year-old Labrador man with multiple drug and firearm offences.
Just before 12.30am this morning (July 2) police noticed the man leaving an apartment complex on Frank Street, Labrador, walking with another man.
After stopping and speaking with the two men, police will allege they located a shortened firearm, ammunition and a flick knife, along with a quantity of methylamphetamine, prescription medication, cannabis and drug utensils on the 38-year-old.
He was arrested and later charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of weapons, and one count each of authority required to possess explosives, possess shortened firearms and possess property suspected of having been used in the connection with a drug offence.
He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

Suspicious injuries to baby, Gladstone

Detectives have launched an investigation after an 8-month-old baby suffered critical injuries at a Gladstone residence in May.
On Saturday, May 30 the baby boy was transported from a home on Wilson Street in New Auckland to Gladstone Hospital after he was located non-responsive by emergency services.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the boy was flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital where he has since undergone multiple surgeries.
Detectives from the Child Trauma Unit and Gladstone Child Protection Investigation Unit are piecing together a timeline of events and are seeking public assistance to fully understand the circumstances leading up to the boy’s hospitalisation.
In particular, investigators would like to speak with anyone that has had contact with the family, the child over the course of his life or knowledge that may assist.
