A man has been charged after a male tourist was allegedly stabbed during an altercation at Mooloolaba early this morning.
It will be alleged between 12.30 and 1am a 29-year-old Cairns man and four associates left a licensed premises on Brisbane Road and were walking towards Venning Street when they were approached by two men from an earlier confrontation.
A fight broke out during which the 29-year-old man from Cairns was allegedly stabbed in the abdomen and back.
The two men then fled along Walan Street towards Brisbane Road.
The male victim was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
A 19-year-old Maroochydore man was today arrested and charged with one count of wounding, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with a drug offence.
He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow (July 2).

Police officer stood down, Southern Region
A 51-year-old male senior constable from Southern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.
Investigations are being conducted into allegations the officer committed acts of domestic violence. As a result of these investigations, the officer has been served with a Police Protection Notice and charged with common assault.
He has been issued with a Notice to Appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court in July for breaching the Police Protection Notice.

Armed robbery, Edens Landing
Logan police have charged a 20-year-old Edens Landing man after he allegedly robbed two boys at knifepoint yesterday (June 30).
Around 10.30am the man allegedly approached the boys at an Eddy Avenue park in Edens Landing armed with a flick knife.
The man allegedly demanded the boys hand over their scooters, a mobile phone and an electronic speaker, before leaving the park with the property.
Police investigations led to the man being arrested a short time later at a residence in Delanty Court.
He was charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon. He will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Man charged following multiple break-and-enters at business precinct, Meadowbrook
Logan police have charged a 40-year-old Browns Plains man with multiple offences after investigating numerous break-and-enters at a commercial precinct in Meadowbrook.
Just after midnight on June 28, a man was captured on CCTV allegedly walking around the University Drive complex looking into cars and office building windows.
He returned to the location around 2pm that afternoon (June 28), where he allegedly broke into four separate businesses, allegedly stealing multiple sets of car keys, old mobile phones and a small amount of cash.
It will be alleged he used one of the sets of keys to break into a white Hyundai iLoad van that was parked in the business complex, before allegedly driving it to another office in the same complex.
Just after 3.30pm he was seen leaving the complex in a white Toyota Corolla, alleged to have been stolen from one of the businesses.

Man charged with over 90 drug offences, Kingaroy
Murgon detectives have charged an alleged drug trafficker with 91 offences and seized over $30,000 worth of illicit substances following the closure of Operation Knuckle yesterday.
The operation culminated in the execution of 31 search warrants and 34 people being charged with 166 drug offences with more than $30,000 worth of drugs being taken off the streets.
On June 30 a 24-year-old man was arrested in Kingaroy and subsequently charged with one count each of trafficking a dangerous drug (ICE/Amphetamine), receiving proceeds from drug trafficking, possessing property used in the commission of a drug offence and a further 88 counts of supplying a dangerous drug.
He is due to appear in Cherbourg Magistrates Court today.
Detectives will allege that between July 2019 and June 2020 the man supplied ten people in Kingaroy with various quantities of ICE over an extended period.

Boy charged over attempted armed robbery, Helensvale
Police have charged a 15-year-old boy after a car was allegedly attempted to be stolen at knifepoint in Helensvale last night.
Around 6.30pm a 40-year-old man parked his 2020 X6 BMW near an ATM at a shopping centre at Millaroo Drive and went to lodge some cash. When he returned to his vehicle a group of youths dispersed away from his car except for one boy who allegedly demanded the car keys.
The man refused at which time it will be alleged the boy produced a knife. The man ran from the scene but fell with members of the public coming to his aid.
The boy fled and was located by police a short time later at a nearby bus stop.
The man sustained shoulder and minor hand injuries from his fall and was transported to hospital for treatment.
A 15-year-old boy from Edens Landing has been charged with attempted armed robbery.
Investigations are ongoing.

Dangerous driving and evade, Ipswich
Police have charged a man after a series of dangerous driving incidents throughout the Ipswich area overnight.
Initial inquiries indicate around 10pm a 2007 Honda Jazz was seen crossing into the path of oncoming traffic and running red lights.
It will be alleged the driver evaded police in North Ipswich around 11pm and again on Old Toowoomba Road in One Mile Creek just before midnight.
A tyre deflation device was deployed and the car was brought to a stop on Guinevere Street in Leichhardt.
The driver was arrested without incident and no one was injured.
A 34-year-old man from New South Wales has been charged with seven counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, two counts of evasion, one count of driving a motor vehicle without a licence, one count of fail to provide specimen of breath for analysis and one count of possessing dangerous drugs.

Fatal traffic crash, Bowen Hills
A 50-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a truck while riding her bicycle through Bowen Hills this morning.
Just after 7.30am, the woman was riding along O’Connell Terrace when she came to stop between a truck and another vehicle at traffic lights at the intersection with Bowen Ridge Road.
The cyclist was hit by the truck as it moved forward after receiving a green light.
Paramedics treated the woman on scene, however she died a short time later. The 58-year-old male driver of the truck was not physically injured.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing investigations.

Grievous bodily harm of baby, Bundamba
Detectives from the Ipswich Child Protection Investigation Unit have today charged a man in relation to the alleged grievous bodily harm of a five-month-old baby at Bundamba.
A major investigation centre was established under codename Operation Sierra Boston on June 23 after the infant was located unresponsive inside a residence at 3.30pm.
The boy was transported to the Queensland Children’s Hospital where he remains in a critical condition in intensive care after sustaining multiple serious injuries.
Ongoing investigations by Ipswich detectives and officers from the State Crime Command Child Abuse and Trauma Unit have led to a 23-year-old Lockrose man, who is known to the family, being charged with grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow (July 1).
Investigations are continuing.
