Update 4: Homicide investigation, Logan

Detectives have laid additional charges against a man as investigations continue into the death of 16-year-old Larissa Beilby who was located deceased in Stapylton on Wednesday.
Operation Quebec Jagger was launched on June 27 after Miss Beilby was located deceased in the back of a utility around 2pm in a gated community on Silky Oak Drive.
On June 28, police launched an urgent appeal for information in relation to the whereabouts of a 34-year-old man, who police wished to speak to in relation to their investigation.
Around 3.30pm on June 29, the man was located at a unit complex in Juan Street, Alexandra Headlands.
A 34-year-old Shailer Park man is expected to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today charged with murder and misconduct with a corpse.
He has since been charged with another 16 offences including two counts of possessing tainted property, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of

Armed robbery, Paget

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a sandwich shop in Paget this evening.
At 9.10pm, a man entered the Centurion Drive store armed with what appeared to be a firearm concealed in a T-shirt.
The man made demands for cash before leaving the premises on foot with a sum of money.
The female staff member was not physically injured.
Investigations are continuing.

Fatal traffic crash, Moorooka

Three people have died in a three vehicle traffic crash in Moorooka this evening.
Initial investigations suggest at 8pm, a silver Holden Commodore was travelling along Ipswich Road outbound when it crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a sedan and a Hyundai near Hamilton Road.
The driver of the Commodore, an 18-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the sedan also died at the scene.
The four occupants travelling in the Hyundai did not sustain any physical injuries.
Ipswich Road inbound is closed from Grenard Road in Moorooka and is expected to reopen around 1am.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Stabbing, Southport

Police have charged a man after an alleged stabbing that occurred this afternoon in Southport.
It will be alleged a man approached another man at 12.50pm as they were both at a prayer meeting and stabbed him several times in the abdomen.
A 29-year-old man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital and his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
A 28-year-old Southport man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Attempted armed robbery, Currimundi

A 29-year-old man has been charged after the alleged attempted armed robbery of a fast food outlet at Currimundi early this morning.
It will be alleged around 4am a male driver in a stolen utility threatened a staff member with a firearm in the drive-through of the Nicklin Way business.
The employee moved away from the drive-through window and the vehicle drove away.
No one was injured during the incident.
Around 5.20am police located a utility on Joshua Court in Caboolture before it drove away from officers, allegedly evading police.
Police pursued the vehicle until it stopped on Uhlman Road at Burpengary East and the man fled on foot. He was later located by officers and taken into custody around 10.15am.
A search allegedly located a quantity of ice, a firearm and a knife.

Serious traffic incident, Morayfield

Police are investigating a serious traffic incident which occurred in Morayfield this morning.
Just before 5.30am, police were called to the intersection of Michael Avenue and Morayfield Road following reports a vehicle had rolled.
The male driver suffered serious injuries including wounds to his neck and spine and
was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and is in a critical condition.
Initial investigations suggest that the man is believed to have a gunshot wound to his neck
Three men were last seen running from the crash on Michael Avenue.
The Forensic Crash Unit and CIB are continuing to investigate and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to please contact them.

Update: Homicide, Aitkenvale

A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder following investigations into the death of a 68-year-old man at a home in Aitkenvale on Friday, June 29.
Police were called to the Nathan Street unit complex following reports of a disturbance between a group of people known to each other around 7.30pm.
The man was located with a suspected stab wound to his chest and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A crime scene was established and a knife was seized from the unit.
The 34-year-old Aitkenvale man was charged with one count of murder and will be appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Armed robbery, Labrador

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a man in Labrador last night.
At 10pm, a 19-year-old man was walking towards his parked Holden Commodore sedan on Billington Street when he was approached by four males.
One of the males was armed with a knife and demanded the 19-year-old’s wallet and car keys.
The four males entered the sedan and drove away.
The 19-year-old was not physically injured.
Investigations are continuing.

Update 2: Homicide investigation, Logan

A man is assisting with enquiries following investigations after a body was discovered in a ute at Staplyton on June 27.
Detectives launched Operation Quebec Jagger on the afternoon of June 27 after a body was located in the back of a utility around 2pm in a gated community on Silky Oak Drive.
When police arrived, a man left the address in a black utility which was tracked to Staplyton.
An Investigation Centre comprising of detectives from the Logan District and the Homicide Investigation Unit was established at Logan Central police station.
On June 28, police launched an urgent appeal for information in relation to the whereabouts of a man who police wished to speak to in relation to their investigation.
Around 3.30pm yesterday, police located a man at a unit complex in Juan Street in Alexandra Headland.
Following an extended period of negotiations with police, he surrendered peacefully at 6:30pm this evening and was taken

Fraud and theft, Gympie

Police are keen to talk to members of the public who may have had dealings with a 47-year-old man arrested in Gympie on June 21 on theft and fraud offences.
It will be alleged the man stole farming implements from Moonie and subsequently sold them to other parties.
It will be further alleged the man used the services of online dating sites to establish relationships with women in order to defraud them of money and property.
Officer in Charge of Gympie CIB Detective Sergeant Rob Lowry said the man used the name of ‘David’ on the dating sites along with several different surnames including ‘Whittaker’.
“As police continue to investigate, we would be interested to speak with members of the public who have had contact with this man online,” Detective Sergeant Lowry said.
“If you have any concerns or believe you are a victim, then please contact police,”
