On Sunday May 13 police received a number of calls from concerned motorists travelling along the Ipswich Motorway through Rocklea who had seen an elderly man walking the wrong way through traffic down the freeway.
Sergeant Matt Davies and Constable Dane De Jager from Moorooka station were quick to attend and not long after conducting patrols of the area found Frank close to the busy road.
The adventurous 93-year-old had decided to walk from Rocklea to JB Hi-Fi at Oxley to buy a new USB stick for his computer.
Sergeant Davies and Constable De Jager were more than happy to provide a special police escort for Frank to the store to make his puchase and a courtesy drop-off back home safely.
Was a pleasure meeting you Frank, stay safe!

Grievous bodily harm charge, Beenleigh

A man has been charged after another man was assaulted with a machete at a Beenleigh house overnight.
Shortly before 9pm, police attended a Chapman Drive address where they located a 64-year-old injured man.
Investigations suggest a man known to the occupant attended the address, assaulted the man with the machete causing an injury to his left arm.
The man sustained non-life threatening injures and was taken to the Princess Alexandria Hospital for treatment.
A man was located at a Mount Warren Park address a short time later and arrested.
The 44-year-old man has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Serious traffic crash, Lutwyche

A boy has been seriously injured following a traffic crash that occurred in Lutwyche this afternoon.
At 3.35pm, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Gympie Road and Kedron Park Road.
The driver of one of the cars, a 36-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A 6-year-old boy that was a passenger in the same car was taken to Lady Cilento Hospital with serious head injuries.
The driver of the other car, a 50-year-old woman, was also treated for minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Traffic crash, Mornington Island

A 26-year-old man was flown to Townsville Hospital with serious facial injuries following a single vehicle rollover at Mornington Island last night.
Preliminary investigations indicate police attempted to intercept a vehicle travelling along Cemetery Road around 7.35pm with the driver allegedly failing to stop.
The driver, a 27-year-old man lost control of the vehicle a short time later on Cemetery Road.
Four men and three women were in the Toyota 4WD when it crashed with police rendering first aid to the injured, which included a 35-year-old man, a 36-year-old man and 32-year-old woman – all of who sustained minor injuries.
The most seriously injured, a 26-year-old man remains in a serious condition in Townsville Hospital.
Police investigations are continuing.

Assault bodily harm charges, Gladstone

Detectives investigating an alleged violent assault in South Gladstone yesterday afternoon have charged a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy over the incident.
It is alleged at about 5.30pm, a group of boys and girls aged in their teens were walking along Auckland Street when they engaged in a verbal altercation with a man inside a property at that location.
It is further alleged a number of persons from the group entered the yard and assaulted the man, kicking him to the ground and hitting his arm with a bat prior to fleeing the scene on foot.
As a result of investigations, police located and arrested two boys and a girl outside an address in Off Lane.
A 17-year-old Barney Point boy and a 15-year-old South Gladstone boy have been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and public nuisance.
Investigations are continuing.

FINAL AMBER ALERT: Boy located, Mudgereeba

The Queensland Police Service have located the 12-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted from Mudgereeba yesterday afternoon.
The boy was found by police in Grafton in New South Wales a short time ago and is believed to have suffered no major injuries.
A 53-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries.
Police are still looking to locate the dark blue 2013 Jeep Compass with QLD registration 760TNH believed to be linked the boy’s disappearance and continue with liaise with New South Wales Police as part of their investigations.

Update 2 Amber Alert, Mudgeeraba – NOW CANCELLED – the boy has been located

UPDATE 12.40pm, May 12, 2018 – The 12yo boy has been located safe in Grafton, NSW. The Amber Alert is now cancelled.
Police are still looking for the vehicle (see below).
The Queensland Police Service has released images of a vehicle believed to be linked to the abduction of a 12-year-old boy from Mudgeeraba yesterday afternoon.
The boy was last seen on Clover Hill Drive at 3.45pm being pulled into a dark blue 2013 Jeep Compass SUV with a possible Queensland registration 760 TNH and may be at significant risk.
CCTV images have also been released of the boy leaving a Somerset Drive educational facility shortly before he was taken.
Preliminary information suggests the incident was planned and not random.
He was last seen wearing a white shirt and dark coloured shorts.
The boy is described as being Asian in appearance.

Armed robbery, Deception Bay

Detectives investigating a robbery at Deception Bay in March have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist them.
At 11.20pm, a man armed with a knife approached two women in the carpark of a liquor store and demanded money from them.
The women complied handing over cash and a quantity of alcohol to the man before he fled on foot towards a nearby sporting field.
The women weren’t injured as a result of the incident.
The man is described as wearing a navy blue and white top, navy blue trousers and bare feet.
Investigations are continuing and police are appealing for anyone that was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact them.

Break and enter investigations, Scarborough

Police are investigating a number of break and enter incidents that occurred at Scarborough over the last week at the same unit complex.
Between May 6 and May 10, offenders have gained entry to a secured carpark on Landsborough Avenue and stolen various items of property.
On May 10 at about 1.48am, two men entered the secured carpark by damaging a locked door and entered a storage area.
The men left the carpark a short time later without taking any property.
Police are appealing to any members of the public who are able to identify the two men pictured in the below footage or have information in relation to their whereabouts as police believe the men may be able to assist with their inquiries.
