Sudden death investigation, Stones Corner

Detectives are investigating the death of a 48-year-old Norman Park man in Stones Corner this morning.
Police were called to Hanlon Park near Logan Road around 5.45am where a man was found lying in a drain by a group of joggers.
He was moved from the drain in an attempt to resuscitate him but was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A crime scene was established and a post mortem will be conducted to help determine the cause of death.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or vision which could assist to contact police.

Wounding investigation, Ashgrove

Detectives are investigating after two men, aged 25 and 26, and who were known to each other, sustained serious injuries in North Brisbane this morning which saw both men hospitalised.
Around 2.30am police were called to Waterworks Road in Ashgrove where a 25-year-old man received a stab wound to his upper arm.
The man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment to a non-life threatening injury.
Police were then advised a second man had been stabbed and had travelled to a Zillmere address.
A short time later officers attended a Handford Road residence where they located the 26-year-old man inside with a serious stab wound to his chest.
He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and underwent surgery where he remains in a critical condition.
A Holden Commodore located outside the Zillmere address has been seized for forensic testing.
Investigations are continuing into the incident with police appealing for anyone

Police officer stood down, Road Policing Command

A 53-year-old male senior constable from Road Policing Command has been stood down from duty with the Queensland Police Service.
The officer has been issued with a Notice to Appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court for two charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle, pursuant to the Criminal Code. The incident occurred whilst on duty.

Beenleigh man charged over multiple break-and-enters

Logan District police have charged a 32-year-old man with multiple offences after investigations into a number of break-and-enters on businesses in Beenleigh recently.
Around 8:30am yesterday officers noticed the man walking along George Street, Beenleigh, wearing similar clothing to a person seen on CCTV allegedly breaking into a jewellery store on the same street earlier this week.
Police will allege they located numerous items of suspected stolen jewellery, a small quantity of methylamphetamine and suboxone, and a small knife after stopping and speaking with the man.
As a result of further investigations the man’s phone was seized where it will be alleged officers found child exploitation material.
It will further be alleged the man forced entry to a carpark on George Street just before midnight on Monday, June 22 and attempted to enter a number of vehicles. After unsuccessful attempts on multiple cars, it is alleged the man smashed the rear passenger window of

Chemist break ins, Gold Coast

Gold Coast detectives are investigating possible links between two break and enters at separate chemists on the Gold Coast this morning.
Around 5.10am two males have attempted to break the glass of a front sliding door at a Slatyer Road chemist at Southport, but were unsuccessful. They have then kicked the glass in and entered the premises stealing a quantity of prescription drugs.
Shortly after at 5.45am, a front sliding glass door was kicked in at a Hope Island Road chemist at Helensvale where a quantity of fragrances and prescription drugs were taken.
Investigations are ongoing.

Update – Homicide investigation, The Range

A Wandal man has been charged following the death of a 42-year-old woman at The Range in Rockhampton on Tuesday night.
The 45-year-old man has been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence offence) and enter with intent.
He is expected to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court this morning.

Update 2: Man charged over wounding, Buddina

Police have charged an 18-year-old Mountain Creek man in relation to the alleged stabbing of a teenage girl at a Sunshine Coast shopping centre on Monday afternoon.
He has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm (GBH), acts intended to cause GBH, wounding and possession of a knife in a public place.
He will appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today (June 25).

545 people charged as part of Operation Sierra Window, Southern Region

Police have charged 545 people with a variety of offences as part of ‘Operation Sierra Window’; an on-going proactive operation targeting property crime in the Southern Region.
The focus of the operation, which commenced earlier this month, is aimed at disrupting crime and enhancing community safety, with a continued focus on Domestic Violence related offences.
The operation has resulted in the following enforcement action;

89 persons charged with 112 unlawful use of a motor vehicle offences;
85 persons charged with 196 burglary offences;
15 persons charged with 16 robbery offences;
191 persons charged with 348 breach of bail offences;
165 persons charged with 238 breaches of domestic violence order offences;
189 persons arrested on return to prison and fail to appear warrants;
1095 persons visited as part of court-imposed bail conditions.

Southern Regional Crime Coordinator, Detective Acting Superintendent Mat Kelly said the rolling operation will continue to focus on high-risk offenders in our communities who cause significant harm.

Update: Wounding, Buddina

Police have arrested a man in relation to the alleged stabbing of a teenage girl at a Sunshine Coast shopping centre on Monday afternoon.
At 4pm on June 22, police were called to a complex in Buddina following reports a girl had been wounded.
Police will allege two males known to each other, aged 18 and 17, were involved in a physical altercation.
A 16-year-old girl attempted to intervene which resulted in the 18-year-old man allegedly stabbing her. She sustained a significant laceration from her chin to ear.
The 18-year-old man then allegedly fled the shopping centre.
The 16-year-old girl was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Ongoing investigations by detectives from the Sunshine Coast Criminal Investigation Branch led police to an address on Blaxland Street in Woodridge today where an 18-year-old man was taken into custody just after midday.
He is currently assisting police with inquiries.

Three teenagers charged with burglary and other offences, Labrador

Police have charged three teenagers with multiple offences after responding to a call of an alleged burglary in Labrador yesterday.
Around 10am police were called to a Brown Street address after the resident returned home to find the front door had allegedly been forced open. The resident closed and locked the door before calling police, allegedly while the three teenagers were still in the property.
It is alleged the three teenagers left from the rear of the house.
A short time later police attended an Adam Court apartment complex and declared an emergent search of the property. While searching the property it will be alleged one of the offenders began throwing some of the stolen property at officers. Police allegedly recovered six designer watches, sunglasses and other jewellery items.
A 16-year-old boy was charged with one count of burglary, one count of unlawful possession and one count of failure to appear.
