Fatal traffic crash, Clermont

A man has died following a single vehicle traffic crash in Clermont this evening.
Preliminary information indicates that the 68-year-old driver was travelling along Huntley Road at 6.40pm when it’s suspected he suffered a medical episode, causing the car to lose control.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Wounding, Buddina

Police are searching for a man following the wounding of a teenage girl in Buddina this afternoon.
At 4pm, police were called to a shopping centre following reports a teenage girl had been stabbed.
Police will allege two men known to each other, aged 18 and 17 were involved in a physical altercation.
During the altercation a 16-year-old girl, has attempted to intervene, resulting in the 18-year-old man allegedly stabbing the girl, resulting in a significant laceration from her chin to ear.
The 18-year-old man has then proceeded to run from the shopping centre.
The 16-year-old girl was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition and is currently undergoing treatment.
The 17-year-old man involved in the initial altercation was not injured during the incident.
Police declared a crime scene and conducted significant patrols of the surrounding areas, however have not located the man.

Serious assault of police officer, Brisbane

Police have charged a man following an alleged assault on a police prosecutor in Brisbane this morning.
Around 11.15am, the man allegedly approached a barrister on George Street and became aggressive.
A male sergeant observed the man’s behaviour and intervened to de-escalate the situation. The man allegedly turned on the officer and punched him several times in the head.
Members of the public assisted the officer before the man was taken into custody.
The officer and another 47-year-old man were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The barrister was not physically injured.
The 24-year-old Gailes man was denied police bail and charged with serious assault of a police causing bodily harm, serious assault of a police officer and commit public nuisance.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Deprivation of liberty charges, Inala

Detectives from Inala and Toowoomba Child Protection Investigation Unit have charged four teenagers following an alleged incident with another boy in Inala on Saturday afternoon.
At 2.45pm, police were called to a Cormorant Street address in relation to reports of four people allegedly putting a 13-year-old boy in the boot of a car.
The registration of the vehicle was observed by a member of the public which had been reported stolen from a North Toowoomba address on Friday (June 19).
Police will allege the stolen car was involved in a number of crimes including a fuel drive off at a Forest Lakes service station at 4.45pm the same day (June 20).
Police will allege the driver of the stolen car pulled over at the intersection of at Scenic Road and Greenhill Road in Redbank Plains at 7.30pm on Saturday, June 20.

Fatal traffic crash, Cardwell

A male pedestrian has been killed after being struck by a heavy vehicle in Cardwell yesterday evening (June 21).
Preliminary information suggests about 8.45pm a 46-year-old Innisfail man was walking along Victoria Street when he was hit by a truck.
The man died at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not physically injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Fatal traffic crash, Slacks Creek

A 25-year-old man has died after the motorbike he was riding collided with a vehicle at Slacks Creek this afternoon.
Just after 1pm, the motorbike and a car were merging at the intersection of Kingston Road and Wembley Road when the incident occurred.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Kingston Road was closed in both directions with traffic diversions put in place and reopened just before 5pm.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the crash or who has dash cam vision to come forward.

OMCG arrest, Gold Coast

Taskforce Maxima officers are investigating possible consorting offences following the arrest of a Mongol OMCG member yesterday on the Gold Coast.
As part of traffic operations, a motorcycle was seized and impounded for 90 days with the rider, a member of the Mongols OMCG, being unlicensed. The rider also tested positive to a roadside drug test.
Investigations will continue into potential consorting offences within Queensland’s jurisdiction.
Organised Crime Gangs Group Commander, Detective Superintendent Roger Lowe said the Queensland Police Service (QPS) is committed to disrupting crime gangs.
“This should be a warning to all criminal gangs, that the QPS is focused on disrupting their activities,” Detective Superintendent Lowe said.
“We will continue to work with other law enforcement jurisdictions to ensure we achieve this.”

Armed man, traffic incident – South Brisbane

Police are investigating after a man ran from police prior to being seriously injured by a vehicle in South Brisbane tonight.
It will be alleged the man was armed with a knife and behaving suspiciously on Merrivale Street before he refused requests from police for him to stop.
The man then allegedly attempted to gain access to a premise before walking onto the road where he was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Russell and Melbourne Streets.
Police rendered immediate assistance before the man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a head injury.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
There is no further information available as investigations continue.

Robbery and dangerous driving charges, Vincent

Police have charged a 30-year-old man with multiple serious offences after a stolen vehicle crashed into a residence in Vincent this morning.
It is alleged a man forced his way into a Blaxland Crescent residence around 4am before threatening a man and woman inside the house.
During the incident, the man allegedly threw furniture around and smashed a glass table.
When a 34-year-old man, who was at the address, attempted to leave in his car, the man allegedly opened the driver’s door and forced him out of the car before stealing it and driving off.
Police located the stolen car in Clement Crescent after it crashed into the front of a residence.
The man was arrested in the vicinity before being transported to Townsville Hospital as a precaution.
It is believed he was known to the woman in the Blaxland Crescent residence.
