Detectives from Whitsunday Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and officers from Mackay Tactical Operations Team and Rockhampton Drug Squad last week closed a major investigation, seizing drugs, cash and weapons.
As a result of raids during Operation Mackay Broadus, police located and seized 75g of methylamphetamine, 38g of MDMA, a rifle and other property including computer equipment and fishing gear.
Six search warrants were executed last week which resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man allegedly linked to numerous property offences across Mackay, Whitsunday and Bowen divisions between February and June this year.
Police also located an allegedly stolen Toyota Prado and caravan as the man was taken into custody in Townsville.
He was charged with 51 offences which included multiple counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, fraud, possession of drugs and enter premises and commit indictable offence by break.
He is due to reappear in Townsville

Serious traffic crash, Ormeau
Police are investigating a serious, two vehicle crash at Ormeau this afternoon.
At 2.30pm a motorbike was travelling south on the Pacific Motorway, just past the Ormeau exit, when it and another vehicle collided.
The impact of the crash caused the motorcyclist to be thrown into a side barrier.
The 20-year-old male motorcyclist was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to life-threatening-injuries.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash or anyone with dashcam vision of the area at the time to make contact as they may be able to assist with identifying the second vehicle.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Armed robbery – Southport
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Southport earlier today.
Around 9.40am a man entered the Ferry Road business before taking a number of food items and placing them in a bag he was carrying.
The female store attendant confronted him at which time he removed an angle grinder from the bag and made threats.
The man then left the scene with the bag and items from the store.
Investigations are ongoing.

Fatal traffic crash, Burpengary
A 93-year-old man has died after being hit by a cyclist at Burpengary on Monday.
The man was walking along the footpath of Burpengary Service Road near Reynolds Court when a cyclist riding in the opposite direction collided with him.
He was treated by paramedics and transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he died yesterday.
The rider, a 43-year-old Narangba man, was not physically injured.
Investigations are continuing.

Update 1: Comfit image release, Mungindi wounding
Detectives from St George Criminal Investigation Branch investing the wounding of a man on Sunday morning, June 14 at Mungindi have released a comfit image of a man who may be able to assist them with their investigations.
At around 11.30am the 30-year-old drover was mustering cattle on Noondoo Mungindi Road approximately 12 kilometres from the Queensland – New South Wales border when he spotted a man attempting to remove a ‘cattle ahead sign’.
The two men engaged in a verbal altercation which escalation into a physical confrontation during which time the drover was slashed in the cheek and the forearm with a knife that the man had retrieved from his nearby Ute.
The man- who is described as Caucasian, aged around 40, approximately 185cm tall with a slim build, blue eyes, shoulder length sandy blonde hair, and wearing a red flannelette shirt and blue jeans- returned to his Ute and drove off.

Update 1: Appeal for witnesses, fatal traffic crash, Buderim
Police from the Sunshine Coast Forensic Crash Unit investigating a fatal traffic incident at Buderim on Saturday, May 16 are appealing for witnesses and motorists with dashcam footage.
A 62-year-old Tewantin man died after being struck by a car on Stringybark Road at around 1.40am.
Investigators are interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have noticed a man and woman walking down Goshawk Boulevard and into Stringybark Road between 1.30 and 1.40am.
Any motorists who drove along Goshawk Boulevard or Stringybark Road between these times and with relevant dashcam footage, is also asked to contact police (details below).
The man was wearing dark shorts, dark long sleeve top, bare feet and had short cropped hair.
The woman was wearing denim shorts, dark coloured socks (no shoes), dark long sleeve top and may have been carrying a dark coloured backpack. She had short dark coloured hair.

Fatal traffic crash, Tinana
A 74-year old woman has died after a two-vehicle crash at Tinana this morning
Preliminary investigations indicate around 9.50am a red Toyota Corolla was heading north on the Lindah Road West on-ramp, onto the Bruce Highway, when it has collided with a white motorhome travelling north on the Bruce Highway.
The driver of the red Toyota was transported to Maryborough Hospital, but was declared deceased upon arrival. The other occupant of the vehicle, an 81-year old female passenger, was airlifted to a hospital in Brisbane with critical injuries.
The two occupants of the motorhome suffered only minor injuries.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating and has appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.

Boy charged over stolen vehicle – Gold Coast
Police have charged a 16-year-old boy in relation to the alleged theft of a red BMW from Kenmore on June 15.
It is alleged the 2019 BMW M235I came to the attention of police while it was parked at a building at Markwell Avenue at Surfers Paradise around 4.45pm yesterday afternoon.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle, causing the boy to flee where he surrendered and was arrested without incident.
Police are investigating possible links to another incident where a Land Rover was stolen from a residence at Mascala Parade at Mermaid Waters on June 13.
A 16-year-old Upper Kedron boy has been charged with two counts of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of receiving stolen property and possession of dangerous drug namely methamphetamine.
He is due to appear in Southport Children’s Court on June 17.
Investigations are ongoing.

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges, Southport
Police have charged three people alleged to have been the occupants of a stolen black Jaguar connected to a series of offences on the Gold Coast.
At around 2.30pm yesterday the vehicle, which had been stolen during a burglary at Mermaid Waters on June 13, was observed being driven dangerously through Coomera.
A short time later, police attempted to block the car while it was stopped at a petrol station on Ashmore Road in Bundall. The driver then allegedly used the Jaguar to ram the police vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The stolen car continued to travel dangerously before being abandoned at a Southport shopping centre carpark where the driver fled. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
A man and woman alleged to be passengers of the car were taken into custody at Ashmore allegedly trying to leave the scene in a taxi.

Six people charged with more than 20 offences following search warrant, Gold Coast
Gold Coast police have charged six people on 22 offences after a search warrant at a Burleigh Heads residence uncovered a large quantity of allegedly stolen items, along with a small amount of drugs and drug utensils.
The warrant, which took place at an address on Tabilban Street, recovered a number of allegedly stolen power tools, tablet computers and accessories, a bicycle, as well as a small quantity of cannabis, methylamphetamine and drug utensils.
Officers from Taskforce Latro executed the search after investigating numerous break-and-enter and stealing offences in the Burleigh Heads area recently.
A 41-year-old Burleigh Heads man was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing a drug utensil. He was issued a Notice to Appear (NTA) at the Southport Magistrates Court on July 21.
A 40-year-old Burleigh Heads woman was charged with one count of possessing tainted property and one count of possessing a drug utensil.
