Gold Coast police have charged a 43-year-old Miami man after he allegedly damaged close to 40 vehicles during a 15-minute period in the early hours of Tuesday morning (9 June).
Police will allege the man began his crime spree at the car park opposite the Burleigh Heads Hotel, damaging a vehicle next to where he had parked his own vehicle.
It is alleged the man then walked in a westerly direction down First Avenue, using a metal pole to smash the front and rear windscreens of vehicles on the street.
The man has then gone north on the Gold Coast Highway before walking down Second Avenue in an easterly direction, continuing to damage cars. He then walked north on The Esplanade, allegedly damaging further vehicles before he was confronted by police.
He was arrested just after midnight without incident.
A total of 36 vehicles were allegedly damaged, including cars with front and/or rear windscreens smashed

Man charged following indecent exposure, Gold Coast
Gold Coast police have charged a 48-year-old man following an incident at a Gold Coast toilet block earlier this month (June).
Police allege around 3pm on Tuesday June 2, the man entered a female cubicle at a toilet block on Tedder Avenue, Main Beach.
It is alleged the man then shuffled his body underneath the cubicle, exposing himself from the waist down to a woman who was in an adjoining cubicle.
Police have charged the man with one count of indecent act in any place which the public are permitted access.
He was bailed and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 1.
Detective Inspector Chris Ahearn said instances like this will not be tolerated in our community, and we urge anyone who has been the victim of this type of behaviour recently to come forward to police.

Drug trafficking charges, Grasstree Beach
Police have charged a woman with drug trafficking after executing a search warrant at a house in Grasstree Beach yesterday.
Around 8am police executed a search warrant at a Maralyn Avenue house where they allegedly located $8,000 in cash, methylamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis.
A 42-year-old Grasstree Beach woman has been charged with one count of trafficking, four counts each of supply dangerous drugs and possession of dangerous drugs, and one count each of possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence (cash) and possession of utensil (glass pipe).
She will appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court this morning, June 10.
Unlawful use of a motor vehicle, Inala to Toowong
Four children have been charged after a stolen vehicle was allegedly driven at speed through Brisbane’s south yesterday.
PolAir observed the white Landrover Discovery which had allegedly been stolen from Auchenflower on June 8 travelling through Inala before heading onto the Logan Motorway at Larapinta around 2.30pm.
The vehicle was tracked as it continued to allegedly be driven dangerously throughout local streets and suburbs, travelling through red lights.
Just before 4pm the stolen car was observed by PolAir entering the Level 1 carpark of a shopping centre at Toowong.
Dog Squad units converged on the location and officers spotted four people allegedly running from the vehicle towards the train station.
A short foot pursuit commenced and the four were taken into custody without incident.

Update 1: Homicide, Woree
Police have charged a man with murder following the death of a woman in Woree yesterday.
At 6.50am yesterday police located a 76-year-old woman deceased at an address on Windarra Street.
The man and woman were known to each other.
A 43-year-old Woree man was arrested and charged with one count of murder.
He will appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
Located kayak, Scarborough
Water Police are appealing for public assistance to identify the owner of a kayak (pictured) which was located this afternoon at Scarborough.
Around 4.45pm a white and green kayak was sighted located on the beach near Flinders Parade, Scarborough.
A single paddle was also located inside the kayak.
Any person who may have seen the kayak or has further information is urged to contact police.

Operation closure results in drug and firearm arrest
Detectives from State Crime Command’s Drug and Serious Crime Group have charged a man with firearm and drug offences and seized drugs, ammunition and cash following the closure of a firearm trafficking investigation operating throughout southeast Queensland.
Yesterday as part of Operation Sierra Second, members of the Drug and Serious Crime Group’s Firearms and Cannabis Team executed a search warrant at a Tanah Merah address where a baton, ammunition, fireworks, $147,000 in cash and quantities of methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis and GHB were seized.
A 38-year-old man was located and arrested at the address charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of supplying a category H weapon (handgun), possession of a category M weapon and explosives, receiving a stolen firearm, and possession of things used in a crime.
The arrest was the outcome of a three-month covert investigation by the Firearms and Cannabis Team.

A 43-year-old Woree man is assisting police with their inquiries following the suspicious death of a woman overnight in Woree.
At 6.30am today, police declared a crime scene at an address on Windarra St where they had located a 76-year-old woman deceased.
The man and woman are known to each other.
Investigations into the death are ongoing and no further information is available at this time.

QPS officers receive national recognition for outstanding efforts
Minister for Police and Minister for Corrective Services the Honourable Mark Ryan MP and Commissioner Katarina Carroll have joined in congratulating seven Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers who have received Australian Police Medals as part of the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours celebrations.
Commissioner Carroll said the latest recipients of this national honour had demonstrated exceptional levels of dedication to the Service and to Queensland.
“The QPS recipients of the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours APMs have contributed to various portfolios and programs within the Service,” Commissioner Carroll said.
“On behalf of the Queensland Police Service, I would like to personally congratulate the seven officers who have received Australian Police Medals for their distinguished service.”
Minister Ryan said the QPS recipients had received their medals for their investigative skills and leadership qualities.

Robbery and fraud, Brisbane south
Police have released vision of three men who may be able to assist with ongoing investigations into a robbery at South Brisbane.
Between 1:00am and 1:30am on April 19 a 35-year-old man was walking along Fleet Lane when he was approached by three men who assaulted him before taking his mobile phone and wallet.
The trio then fled in a small black Toyota, possibly an older Prius or Corolla.
At around 4:55am the same morning the three men pictured were dropped off at a convenience store on Vulture Street in East Brisbane where they allegedly used the 35-year-old victim’s credit card to purchase food and cigarettes.
They were last seen walking towards Wellington Road in Woolloongabba.
Police are appealing for anyone who may recognise the men in the CCTV images or have further information to come forward.
